Sunday April 21st - Presentation on Brehon Law

A fascinating presentation on Brehon Law (Early Irish Law) will be given by Una Mcgillicuddy on Sunday, April 21st at 3 PM in the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center (GDICC). Brehon Law was the indigenous system of Irish law that existed in Ireland from Celtic times thru the 17th century. In many respects Brehon law was quite progressive. It recognised divorce and equal rights between the genders and also showed concern for the environment. It was based on a system of restitution rather than punishment.
The Center is located at 6 Lake Ave. in Danbury, CT For info, call John at 203.417.1700.
